Objectives and organisation of Inner Wheel
The three objects of Inner Wheel:
The three objects of Inner Wheel are very simple. They are to promote true friendship, encourage the ideals of personal service and to foster international understanding.
Inner Wheel has four levels of organisation:
1. International Inner Wheel is one of the world's biggest women's organisations. Every three years, we have an international conference at which all countries and clubs are represented. Recent conferences have been in Sweden, New Zealand and Malaysia. Every club can vote for international officers.
2. National Associations: each country has a national association which holds a conference each year to discuss the running of Inner Wheel in the particular country. Each club votes for officers. The last national conference was in Cardiff. Eight of our members attended and, in between the serious sessions, had a very good time!
3. Each district has its own executive committee which holds regular meetings which all clubs in the district attend to discuss local policy. Rochdale Inner Wheel is part of District 128 which has 30 clubs and approx 720 members. District officers are recruited from these clubs.
4. Individual clubs have their own executive committee recruited from the membership and decide how the particular club achieves the objectives of the international group.
